Being a kinship carer can be a rewarding experience.
Hear from some of our kinship carers on their feedback about different things.
Dear Kinship Team
Thank you so so so so much for my mini facial. I took the morning off specially for that it was such a wonderful treat honestly am so grateful.
This is the first time since I have been going through the SGO that I have been able to enjoy something specific to me as a carer and it was absolutely lush! It shows you really have thought about us; usually we focus on the children and their needs (rightly so!) but this was a lovely well-thought out surprise.
It made my day !!!
Plus bumping into other carers was also so nice to see familiar faces. I had a spring in my step all day as well. ha ha !
Truly, Thanks again.

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the support we had received from our Social Worker.
Over the past six months, we have built a valuable and trusting rapport with the Senior Supervising Social Worker of the Kinship Team.
She has been consistently professional, approachable, and instrumental in helping us navigate key challenges. Her caring approach, combined with her willingness to go above and beyond, has made a genuine difference to our experience.
We have particularly valued her ability to balance professionalism with empathy, offering both practical solutions and reassurance when we needed it most. She has helped us work through complex and unforeseen situations, and we have always felt well supported under her guidance.
All too often, the dedication of those working in social care and education goes unrecognised. We wanted to take the time to highlight the exceptional support that has been provided and the positive impact she has made.
Unlike other teams we have engaged with, where we have often felt consistently unsupported and unheard, your team has been exemplary on every level, and the Senior Supervising Social Worker’s commitment is a credit to that.
Thank you to you and your team for making such a positive difference in the lives of the young people and kinship carers you support.

Dear Team,
Thank you for giving me the chance to share how I feel about everything.
Living with my grandparents feels safe and familiar. I now feel like I fully belong in this house, unlike before, where I was struggling to figure out which home I really belong in.
Being granted the Adoption has made things easier emotionally. Knowing that I am in a stable home permanently feels more normal and less stressful.
The good part about the way you worked with me was how you listened to me and explained my choices so I could understand what was going on. You respected my feelings and didn’t rush me when I needed time.
