Fun and leisure

It’s important to take care of your physical and mental health, to ensure you stay happy and healthy and we will support you in doing so.

Celebration fun day

We host an annual fun day to celebrate your personal and academic achievements.

Leisure offer

In partnership with Everyone Active, Slough Children First offers free gym membership to you up to the age of 25.

Your Social Worker or YPA will complete the online secure referral form and following this, you’ll receive an email detailing the next steps.

Discounts

Slough Borough Council has offered full council tax discount to its care leavers aged 18 to 25 where they are the named tenant for a property.
In these instances, it is important for you and your YPA to notify Slough Borough Council of you being a care leaver so that you can access the full discount.

Care Leaver Covenant has a catalogue of discounts that you can access. Visit Care Leavers Wanted – Care Leaver Covenant (mycovenant.org.uk) for more information.

Driving lessons

We know how expensive driving lessons can be so that’s why we will help pay towards them.

We’ll contribute up to a maximum of £300 towards your driving lessons following an assessment of your affordability to continue with the lessons and tests.

Please speak to your Social Worker/ YPA for information on how to access this support.

Youth groups and other activities

We also work with community groups in Slough including YES Consortium and Spectrum, bringing together fun, supportive, safe spaces and connecting you with other young people in Slough.
