Slough Children First celebrates Newly Qualified Social Workers completing ASYE

September 16, 2024

We are pleased to announce that following their hard work over the past 12 months, our latest cohort of Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) have passed their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).

We were proud to celebrate them on 11 September. Speaking about their journey, our Practice Lead, highlighted that it was a real privilege to support the next generation of Social Workers noting that social work can be challenging but it is a rewarding profession too.

All three Newly Qualified Social Workers have worked extremely hard to develop their knowledge and skills, with regards to assessment skills, report writing and direct work. They have all ensured that children and families are kept at the heart of their practice.

“Everyone at Slough Children First has been so supportive” one of them said, speaking about their journey.

“I’ve enjoyed being a NQSW (at Slough) said another NQSW.” “I’ve had so many different learning opportunities.”

“It’s been a great ASYE year! I’m always learning new things about social work practice,” said another.

Well done to everyone who completed the year, we wish you all the best with the next step of your career!”
