We are pleased to announce that Slough’s Early Help Strategy for 2026-29 has been approved by Cabinet.
The strategy sets out the collective vision and strategic priorities for Early Help in the borough for 2026-2029.
Developed with partner agencies, children, young people and families across Slough, we recognise everyone needs extra help sometimes, and we believe that help should be easily accessible, easy to navigate and offer the right support at the right time to children, young people and their families.
The strategy builds on the previous Early Help Strategy 2023-2025 and maintains the overarching vision to ‘ensure that children, young people and their families receive the right help at the right time’.
Ahead of the launch, Slough Children First and partner organisations came together at The Britwell Centre to run an early help drop-in, so members of the public could find out about the support that is available for children and young people from 0-19 and up to 25 with SEND.
Debbie Jones, Director of Children’s Services and Chief Executive of Slough Children First, said: “Every child deserves the best possible start in life. With this collaborative approach between our partner agencies, and by bringing services together, we can provide joined-up, timely support that ensures children and families receive the right help, at the right time, especially when they need it most.”
Councillor Puja Bedi, Lead Member for Education and Children’s Services, said: “By investing in support for families during the early years, we can help deliver long-term benefits for children and communities in Slough. Every family should be able to access the support they need quickly and easily for themselves and the children and young people they look after, whether it is information relating to prenatal care, how to access the SEND local offer or wellbeing resources and having several Best Start in Life Family Hubs across Slough will be highly beneficial.”
