Slough Children First’s adoption service rated good after Ofsted inspection

May 26, 2023

Following a recent Ofsted inspection, we can announced that Slough Children First’s adoption service has been rated good!

We are pleased to share that our adoption service, which has been part of regional adoption agency Coram Ambitious for Adoption since 2021, has met requirements for a Good rating.

Inspectors found that our staff demonstrated great knowledge within their field & adopters felt heard and supported when things became challenging.

They highlighted that adopters understood the importance of safeguarding and were able to raise any safeguarding concerns with their social workers and were supported in a non-judgemental way through any further investigation.

Ofsted said they could see high team morale and passion carried out within job roles. They were able to the positive relationships staff had with each other, the wider adoption agency and the rest of Slough Children First. ‘Staff are committed to achieving their own goals to maintain a high standard of support for children and their adoptive families.’

This was the first occasion of being inspected under this arrangement and it is positive to see the joint working between all services has ensured ongoing positive outcomes for children.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and the hard work put in by all staff who have made it possible for some of our most vulnerable children to move to their ‘forever’ homes’.
