Slough Children’s Services Trust is asking for your help in finding more local foster carers. It has been widely reported that there is national shortage of foster carers and there is also a desperate need in the Slough area, with many vulnerable children in need of a safe and loving home.
As part of the Trust’s recruitment drive we are looking for local people (aged over 21) to take part in focus groups, where we will ask participants a range of questions including what they think of different campaigns, what they understand about fostering and where they get their local information from.
Jackie Pape, Head of Family Placement Service said:
“We know there are vulnerable children in Slough in need of a loving home and we also know there are people out there with the potential to be amazing foster parents. We are working hard to find these people – to make sure they know that there are very few barriers to becoming a foster carer, that they will receive 24/7 support from the Trust and that they will receive generous allowances. By taking part in our focus groups, you can really play a part in helping us to reach them and spread the word.”
These informal sessions will take place at St Martins Place, in Slough, at various times (day and evening). Refreshments will be provided, and they will last for around one and a half hours.
